Patricia Graver
Patty is a Founding Partner of Third Arch Investments. She has 15 years of investment, advisory, and portfolio oversight experience dedicated to lower middle market businesses across a variety of industries, including the media, consumer products and manufacturing sectors.
Prior to co-founding Third Arch, Patty was a Principal at Versa Capital Management. As a member of the investment team, she was responsible for identifying new investments, underwriting, deal execution, business strategy and board member duties.
Patty began her career as a financial analyst at Rothschild Inc., where she focused on consumer M&A and restructuring. Patty received a B.S. in Business, with a concentration in Finance and Management, from the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University.
A former collegiate athlete, Patty keeps her competitive edge by running marathons, cheering for her husband’s football team, and chasing around her four boys.
Paul Guarino
Paul is a Founding Partner of Third Arch Investments. He has over 15 years of experience identifying, valuing, and investing in lower middle market companies across a broad spectrum of industries. Over his career, he has partnered with management teams to influence strategy and lead their businesses to improved operations.
Prior to co-founding Third Arch, Paul was a Principal at Versa Capital Management, where he helped to evaluate and execute numerous turnaround, restructuring and control buy-out investments. Post-acquisition, he provided financial and strategic support to portfolio company executives and has served as a board member.
Before joining Versa Capital, Paul worked as an M&A investment banking associate at PJ Solomon. Paul received his B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Paul enjoys spending his free time with his wife and two children, is an avid runner, and appreciates good smoked barbecue.
Jack Surma
Jack is a Partner of Third Arch Investments. He has nearly 10 years of direct investment experience across both debt and equity securities and 5 years of operational experience. Jack has built partnerships with a diverse group of capital providers and sponsors to collaboratively structure transactions across the manufacturing, commercial technology, and business services sectors.
Prior to joining Third Arch, Jack was a Senior Vice President at a lower middle market Small Business Investment Company where he was responsible for independently managing all stages of debt and equity deals, including sourcing, structuring, underwriting, monitoring, and exiting transactions, as well as managing junior staff.
Jack previously worked in positions of increasing responsibility for Lockheed Martin as a graduate of its Operational Leadership Development Program, OshKosh Corporation in its Defense and Access Equipment business areas, and Giant Eagle in its Supply Chain Department. Jack earned a B.S. in Supply Chain & Information Systems from the Smeal College of Business at Penn State University Main Campus, and an M.B.A. from Carnegie Mellon.
Jack enjoys providing transportation between activities for his two daughters, exploring Pittsburgh’s restaurant scene with his partner, and escaping to the stream to fly fish.
